I’d like to introduce you and all your readers to Orangutan Outreach, a non-profit organization that raises awareness of the crisis facin orangutans in the wild due to deforestation and the spreading of palm oil plantations into the rainforest.

Orangutan Outreach has an online orangutan adoption program connected to some amazing little orangutans who live at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue Center and Samboja Lestari, two rehabilitation projects in Borneo. Nyaru Menteng was featured in the series ‘Orangutan Island’ on Animal Planet and in ‘Orangutan Diary’ on the BBC.

We currently have 5 orangutans in the program: Kesi, Lomon, Fio, Grendon and Dodo and you can adopt as many of them as you want! The adoption is very affordable and we provide updates on the orangutans several times a year– with new photos, videos and a report card of how they’re doing in forest School.
