The Champagne Region

The term ‘Champagne’ is used to refer to bubbly that’s produced exclusively in the Champagne region of France. Most of us know that. But did you know that it was the Romans who first cultivated the northeast region of France in around the 5^th century? And contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t Dom Perignon who invented Champagne, despite doing much to advance the drink in later years. Instead, it was the Benedictine Monks of Saint Hilaire who first bottled Champers, in 1531. And over a century later, Englishman Christopher Merret documented the addition of sugar created a second fermentation process, a full six years before Dom hit the scene.

We’re all familiar with the ‘Me To You’ bears, what with their tatty grey fur and sky-blue noses. And whether they’re holding a heart, a balloon or an oversized initial, the brand is now the country’s ‘go-to’ for soppy cards and cuddly toys. Happily, you can now add a personalised book to the list of products.

The Basics

The ‘Me To You’ love book features lots of very sweet illustrations based around the famous bears. Better yet, each picture can be personalised to include your chosen names, which are then written in the likes of flowers, pillows and butterflies. You can also add a message and select an occasion – be it Valentine’s Day, a birthday or anniversary.
