There are a few services operating in the US and in Holland that allow you to choose from a gallery of gift options. Once you select your gift you enter the recipient’s mobile number and a note, fill out the payment information and click on send. The text service then sends a code that can be redeemed at a participating retail or online store.
Instant Gift Hit
What I like about the idea is the immediacy and the surprise. Imagine getting a text from a friend or family member, you open it and you get a code. You go online and choose a gift. How wonderful is that!
Watch out for Giiv.com
Giiv.com is a US only service, at the moment, who has said that they are working on an international scale in the future. We think they are well worth keeping an eye on as we are sure this service will prove a hit in the UK.
