August has been a static month for gift searches. With the only movers being Anniversary Gifts moving up to number 6 and Baby Gifts swapping down to number 8.
What does that tell us? More people have anniversaries than babies? That makes sense to me.
I would say that it will be all change for the month of September when some of us will start our Christmas shopping.

What do geeks want? What is a geek? To me a geek is someone who is obsessed with one subject like computers or science fiction. Gifts for Geeks come in at number 26 in our Top 100 Gift Searches Chart for August 2009.
Wine Gifts
Wine Gifts and Champagne Gifts both feature in the top 50 of gift terms this month. I expect these terms to leap up the chart much nearer Christmas. It is the classic gift when you don’t know what to buy and now that you can get high quality personalised labels becoming a must have gift.
Photo Gifts
What are people looking for when they search for Photo Gifts? Is it just a picture frame, a special way of displaying their family pictures or are they looking for something a little more original? We note that spoof and fake newspapers/magazine gifts are becoming even more popular.

I find a lot of folks are thinking — “thinking” — about photo Christmas gifts. They’re exploring the possibility of making custom photo day planners for several people — using hobby photos for an individual, trip photos for someone who took a big trip this past year, and of course, the perennially favorite kid photos for grandparents — or even Dad.
For the fisherman, snapshots of the person fishing, fish he or she has caught, even photos of bait and hooks add a personal touch to a day planner for a fisherman.
For grandparents, family party photos add a nice memory touch. Special days in each grandchild’s life this year — like a birthday party, First Communion, first day of Kindergarten, first bike ride — all great ideas to recap the year with children.
